skirt - thrifted / vintage
nail decals - c/o Modcloth
brooch - thrifted
tights - Target
My hair like this - complete accident! I wore my curlers for far too long then just put a hat on to cover up the ridiculousness and ended up loving the way it looked. I actually even considered cutting my hair super short after seeing how it looked. Sadly withing a few hours my curls nearly completely fell out. My hair may be the prettiest color but it never could hold a curl! Such a bummer.
I'm starting to get a pretty respectable collection of crazy vintage button up shirts. This one I actually yanked from Circus Bear stock. When I bought it I wasn't really into button up shirts for myself but could recognize how awesome it was. But since my recent obsession with outfits made from shirts and skirts as opposed to just dresses came into play I'm now scouring thirft store racks for any crazy patterns I can find!
Hope you all have a great day! I'm having a little Twin Peaks marathon (thanks for getting me addicted, Elycia!) and editing some photos for Circus Bear today. I took a bunch of test shots of clothing for the shop. Fingers crossed when I review them today that I love them. I can't wait to share all the fabulous vintage clothing I've had stashed for the shop for months!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love your hair like this, Kaylah! It's really cute! My hair wont hold a curl either, it's just way too thick, except that crazy time I got a perm a few years ago...what a mess! Ha! xo!
ReplyDeleteHahah. I bet you looked cute with a perm!
Deleteperfect blouse and skirt, adore the brooch and lovely shoes and your nails are beyond gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try again Kaylah! hahaha

I love how your hair turned out! Usually when my hair looks funky adding a hat does the trick! Also, I have been on a hunt for some button up blouses. I just feel so silly in them.

bit of hair spray will hold your curls. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Elliott, I never though of using hairspray! :P
Delete(haha, but seriously, NOTHING holds my curls. there isn't a hairspray out there strong enough, I've tried so many)
I LOVVVVE TWIN PEAKS! me and my boyfriend got addicted to it last year and watched both series of it and also the film that came afterwards. so good! i wish they did a third series! I'll be interested to know what you think of the ending...
ReplyDeletestylish outfit as always! and love the hair too! i used to have pink hair and now have pink tips (much less maintenance) but would love to try some different colours like blue or purple. only thing is that the pink dye i have on at the moment is refusing to wash out! it's been there for about four months now! oh well, shouldn't complain, i used to try everything to keep the pink IN rather than OUT!
Anyway that's enough rambling from me!
Oooh? There is a movie? I'm only like 7 or 8 episodes in right now.
DeletePink is such a pain to get out. I vow never to dye my hair pink again because when you try to bleach it out it just gets brighter!
You're hair is adorable! Every time I see something mushroom related I think of you.

ooh that is by far the cutest hairstyling you have had lady! love the curls.
ReplyDeleteAlso love the color :) I'm trying to get rid of the last trace of manic panic red right now, yeah everyone who told me red on white was a mistake were 100% right, never again! hah.
xx
Your hair looks so cute that way! Whenever I try to curl my hair, it always makes me look like Shirley Temple! Those nail decals are so cute, too. I'd probably add a few small rhinestones to sparkle things up if I had some of those :)
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! So cute. I'm in love with your skirt.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this entire outfit!! And your hair!! Soooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair like that! Even if it was an accident!
ReplyDeleteI love the shirt with the skirt too! I wouldn't have thought of doing that myself. I wish I had massive thrift shops where I live to look for shirts like that in c:
Enjoy your day!xx
Oh my, how much I love your hair! And your nails! Actually just the whole outfit is amazing. :) I wish I could rock an outfit like this. It looks like everything would look lovely on you! ~ <3
ReplyDeleteAnd I really need to save some money to buy something from your vintage shop! xoxo
Love the brooch, and you nails are absolutely gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is adorable! And so are your curls! My hair can never hold a curl either, haha
ReplyDeleteaccidents that look awesome = the best.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful skirt!! i love that color, and it goes well with your shoes :) green and gold is so pretty. x
ReplyDeleteI love your nail decals! Super cute. Also, Yay for Twin Peaks Marathons! My man and I watched the entire series in the span of a few weeks because we were borrowing the DVDs from a friend (in a time before netflix). We loved every minute of it... except maybe the last 15. ;p
ReplyDeleteThe curls and hat... actually the whole look is just great on you!!! You remind me of a super-cool operator, which is kinda perfect given that nifty telephone pin you are sporting. I especially like that last one with the sun spots!!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great, but I'm completely in love with your skirt! What's it made from, it looks almost like felt?
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Twin Peaks since it was originally on telly, it scared me so much at the end that I'm not sure I could watch it again (but then I'm a complete wuss when it comes to scary things!). Hope you enjoy it!
LOVE the shoes =]

I have curly hair and when I try to enhance my natural curl it also just falls flat after a couple hours which is so sad. I fully adore the way your hair looks with that hat, I am not sure everyone could put off the look but you certainly can. Work it girl.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! My hair won't hold a curl either, but gosh those curls look gorgeous on you!

I'm loving your hair like that Kaylah - very 1920's and completely adorable. xx
ReplyDeleteI don't think this outfit could be anymore perfect! Every last little detail in it is so sweet, I really wish it belonged to me! I'm the same way with my vintage finds...it's really hard to part with them when they are as lovely as that. I've never considered myself a button down gal either, but lately at least I've been loving layering them under sweaters and cardis. This is my first time discovering your blog...don't know where I've been...but your colorful style couldn't be more up my alley:)
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to button-up shirts. I get so happy when I find some wild patterned shirts when thrifting. There are surely some strange patterns out there! But those are the best.
ReplyDeleteTwin Peaks is amazing. You will absolutely love it and hate it, but mostly love. The hating part comes when you're all done and it hits you that there is no more :(
I love this outfit! It all goes so perfectly together :)
ReplyDelete♥ LW
I like this whole look! The pattern on the shirt is great, but I'm drawn to your skirt because I have a love affair with button front skirts and green is my favorite color. Love it paired with the vintage shirt!

Ah, your hair would look so amazing short! I also am so in love with your hair color right now. It's a shame your hair doesn't hold curls that well! Mine doesn't really either. My curls turn to waves, which I actually kinda of like more. Anyways, the color combination is impeccable, and your nails are so amazing!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting Twin Peaks from the library and watching it. I love Sheryl Lee! (I think I developed a crush on her in the movie Back Beat when she played the photographer Astrid Kirchherr.
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful! I think this is my favorite look of yours. :)
ReplyDeleteWow I love your curls!! I don't think I've ever seen you with curls! haha from the top of your head way down past those adorable nails you are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy hair won't hold curls either, it's down right poo!! Your outfit is lovely, that skirt and those shoes, your hair and the hat! Squee!!
ReplyDeleteYour hair. ♥.♥ Your nails. ♥.♥ Your entire outfit! ♥.♥ Amazing as always, lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks so cute like that! and those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair in those curls! You look gorgeous. Plus, your outfit is totally amazing too.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute!! I love your hair though!!! My hair is thin and never holds any style but straight down! Sad times :(
ReplyDeleteYou should do some hair style tutorials, it always looks so nice! I bet a lot of people would like to see that!

ReplyDeletethey match so smoothly !!!
such a nice unique outfit (drooling
ps :i bet ur look would go superb with some shocking red rouge ♡♡♡♡♡
My hair doesn't hold a curl either and then I tried pincurls. I left them in whilst I slept and then the next day went tramping across a mountain in high winds. I still had curls at the end of the day, it was incredible. People have heated curls into my hair in the past and they haven't even lasted an hour indoors :(
ReplyDeleteI lurve your hair and those nails!

adorable outift! For some reason, I think it's very Mad Mennish :-) Love the whole ensemble and especially how the shoes fit the lines of your cloths :-)
ReplyDeletei love this outfit. your hair looks amazing like this. my hair doesn't hold curls very well, but i've found that if i curl them with a straightener instead of a curling iron they hold a lot longer. hope this is of help!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks lovely! And that outfit is awesome - love the brooch! :) xx
