what I wore: golden telephone

the details:
hat - thrifted
shirt - thrifted / vintage
skirt - thrifted / vintage
nail decals - c/o Modcloth
brooch - thrifted
tights - Target
shoes - Saul c/o Blowfish

My hair like this - complete accident! I wore my curlers for far too long then just put a hat on to cover up the ridiculousness and ended up loving the way it looked. I actually even considered cutting my hair super short after seeing how it looked. Sadly withing a few hours my curls nearly completely fell out. My hair may be the prettiest color but it never could hold a curl! Such a bummer.

I'm starting to get a pretty respectable collection of crazy vintage button up shirts. This one I actually yanked from Circus Bear stock. When I bought it I wasn't really into button up shirts for myself but could recognize how awesome it was. But since my recent obsession with outfits made from shirts and skirts as opposed to just dresses came into play I'm now scouring thirft store racks for any crazy patterns I can find!

Hope you all have a great day! I'm having a little Twin Peaks marathon (thanks for getting me addicted, Elycia!) and editing some photos for Circus Bear today. I took a bunch of test shots of clothing for the shop. Fingers crossed when I review them today that I love them. I can't wait to share all the fabulous vintage clothing I've had stashed for the shop for months!

  17. Very cute...I love the curls :) my curls last forever (ancient Chinese secret: Aqua Net) lol, My beauty school teacher about died when she found out I used it..but hey, it works. That shirt is awesome too! Justice always looks at me like I'm crazy when I pick out the weird patterns :)

  21. I LOVVVVE TWIN PEAKS! me and my boyfriend got addicted to it last year and watched both series of it and also the film that came afterwards. so good! i wish they did a third series! I'll be interested to know what you think of the ending...
    stylish outfit as always! and love the hair too! i used to have pink hair and now have pink tips (much less maintenance) but would love to try some different colours like blue or purple. only thing is that the pink dye i have on at the moment is refusing to wash out! it's been there for about four months now! oh well, shouldn't complain, i used to try everything to keep the pink IN rather than OUT!
    Anyway that's enough rambling from me!

      Pink is such a pain to get out. I vow never to dye my hair pink again because when you try to bleach it out it just gets brighter!

  33. I love your nail decals! Super cute. Also, Yay for Twin Peaks Marathons! My man and I watched the entire series in the span of a few weeks because we were borrowing the DVDs from a friend (in a time before netflix). We loved every minute of it... except maybe the last 15. ;p

    I haven't watched Twin Peaks since it was originally on telly, it scared me so much at the end that I'm not sure I could watch it again (but then I'm a complete wuss when it comes to scary things!). Hope you enjoy it!

  38. I have curly hair and when I try to enhance my natural curl it also just falls flat after a couple hours which is so sad. I fully adore the way your hair looks with that hat, I am not sure everyone could put off the look but you certainly can. Work it girl.

  41. I don't think this outfit could be anymore perfect! Every last little detail in it is so sweet, I really wish it belonged to me! I'm the same way with my vintage finds...it's really hard to part with them when they are as lovely as that. I've never considered myself a button down gal either, but lately at least I've been loving layering them under sweaters and cardis. This is my first time discovering your blog...don't know where I've been...but your colorful style couldn't be more up my alley:)

  42. I'm addicted to button-up shirts. I get so happy when I find some wild patterned shirts when thrifting. There are surely some strange patterns out there! But those are the best.

    Twin Peaks is amazing. You will absolutely love it and hate it, but mostly love. The hating part comes when you're all done and it hits you that there is no more :(

  55. My hair doesn't hold a curl either and then I tried pincurls. I left them in whilst I slept and then the next day went tramping across a mountain in high winds. I still had curls at the end of the day, it was incredible. People have heated curls into my hair in the past and they haven't even lasted an hour indoors :(

  58. i love this outfit. your hair looks amazing like this. my hair doesn't hold curls very well, but i've found that if i curl them with a straightener instead of a curling iron they hold a lot longer. hope this is of help!
