Look what I got in the mail this week!
Business cards for the blog, or as I've been calling them - blogness cards! It's been something I've been thinking about doing for months and months.
Elycia is coming out next weekend (YAY!) I figured it was finally time to order some. Last time we got together at the thrift store the woman behind the counter was questioning what we were going to do with our awesome new cowboy boots. Elycia responded that we were going to wear them, of course. The lady said something like "Oh, are you going to be taking pictures?", implying that they were for some sort of dress up photo shoot. The first thing that ran through my head was "Gosh, I wish I had a business card", just some way to tell her quickly about what I do.
Explaining that you blog, what you blog about, and how to find your blog on the internet is totally awkward, especially with strangers who don't really understand what a blog is in the first place. So I'm hoping these will make it a little easier.
Aren't they fabulous?! I love them so much. I shoved a big wad in my wallet, gave some to Kevin and my mom and dad (my daddy likes to brag about his princess at work. Haha. .....But seriously).Elycia is coming out next weekend (YAY!) I figured it was finally time to order some. They're from Overnight Prints, in case you're curious. They're my company of choice to order from. Kind of slow if you order the cheapest shipping method, but they're always on time.
Do you have blogness cards? Who do you give them out to?
xoxo
I'm Kaylah. thrifting queen.

I have some blogness cards too.. but mine aren;t so beautiful as yours! <3 and I don't really have a sign what my blog is about.. they have just a picture of f.eg my notebooks and my e-mail address, etsy shop, and blog.. here making cards like this is uper expensive, so my special technique is that.. I develope them on photo paper in some studio.. then I spent some time cutting them out.. they are printed only one one side.. but STILL they are super cheap and I love how the mat photo paper looks;p ahh your cards are soo awesome haha :D
ReplyDeleteWOW girl! those are so adorable and such a great idea! can't wait to see what you and elycia have up your sleeve! xoxo
ReplyDeleteyeah i've definitely given it a lot of thought. might just do it now!!
ReplyDeleteyours look INCREDIBLE!!! Love it. Love love love it
Such a great idea! And they are really cute too! Good suggestion. :)
ReplyDeleteLaura
These are fantastic! Oh my goodnes! You just took blogging to a whole new level. So smart! I want some now too! =)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!! I have little cards from MOO that have my blog URL on them but they're mostly for fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard very good things about Overnight prints and plan on using them for my next card purchase. And seeing how great yours turned out makes me want to order some soon!
ReplyDeleteI definitely understand the whole awkwardness of telling people, which is something I am not very good at. But we should be proud of it, right? Maybe I'll start telling people more. eeek! ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry to speak in french again but my english is so terrible...
that's a really neat idea. they look lovely, too!
ReplyDeleteThese are so fabulous! I'm going to order some right now. Thanks for the idea. :)

Yeppers, the "card" is awesome. I hate trying to explain my art. So nice to go, "Oh I have a card to you want one?" Whilst batting my eyelashes. hehe Yours are beautiful. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteThey turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, I'll go get some for me too. ;)
I like the pictures you picked for you cards. :]
ReplyDeleteI give y cards away at conventions and whenever I mail something out.
p.s. i noticed a while ago you have a domain name. (you have .com instead of blogspot.com) always i was wondering where you got it from. i've always wanted just a simple short URL.
I need to make some blogness cards! I tried to explain to my mister's friend that I blog that other day and he just stared at me like I was speaking another language. Grrr! These are adorable though :)

Those are wonderful! Maybe you can even include them in orders!
ReplyDeleteI need some new business cards... I might try this company... thank you for the suggestion and shipping

What a lovely idea! I'd love to receive one for you. Where did you get them? Did you design them yourself? I don't have one, sadly. But my blog isn't anything serious yet anyway. Lovely idea, really!
ReplyDeleteI've mostly worked with Vista Print since they are always doing free giveaways. Your cards look really professional and I like that you made them vertical, not horizontal. Cute!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
They are the cutest business cards I've ever seen! Uh, I mean blogness cards! I would totally check out your blog if I hadn't already found it!
ReplyDeleteIt's reaaaaally awkward telling people about blogging, they soo think that it is somewhere that you go to just "blog about your emotions" and it's hard explaining that it's actually like a little neighbourhood of people! Just saying it back to myself, it sounds a little strange, but totally makes sense at the same time!
These look fantatsic! I would definitely be intrigued enough to pick one up and check it out if I saw it when I was out and about :) None of my friends know I've started blogging, so maybe passing around blogness cards wouldn't be such a good idea...
ReplyDeleteI love them! I never really talk about my blog in real life, due to the awkwardness factor, and how many people just have no idea what I'm talking about. These cards are so nice!
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! Would you send one to someone if they asked?? (hint hint... me) haha
ReplyDeleteThose business cards are really lovely ~ I especially like the one with the fox gloves. At the moment I don't feel like there has been many times where I feel like I need to have a business card, although I have thought about it. Maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteI need blogness cards, I'm always too embarassed to tell people about my blog! yours are lovely :)
ReplyDeleteWhoah! Those look great! What an awesome idea!!!

How cute!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good idea! I know what you mean about people not understanding what you are talking about. It is pretty awkward trying to explain that I blog.
ReplyDeleteThey look so nicely done! Love the photos you chose. I have some cards for my etsy & blog but they're the free moo.com ones so they have a big ugly code on them and I'm running out, so I want to get new ones without any tags on them. Also I totally agree it's so awkward trying to talk to people about having a blog.
ReplyDeleteI never thought in something like that, but is a nice idea
ReplyDeleteThe problem in my country is there are not many bloggers writing like you, or elycia
there are bloggers, but some are not into this "'business" like peoples from North America, Europe, etc.
but is a great beginning to show my other hobby and work.. your cards looks great,
good luck and have fun.
Eep!!! Those are GORGEOUS. Any chance I can have you send me some? If not, that's totally understandable!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a few made, because they were free. :P I know it's a silly thought, but I really really really wanna become a professional *personal* blogger. I know most professional bloggers are style, etc. but I gotta stick with what I love. So, I love blogness cards! To get the word out, ya know!
Those cards are adorable! You did such a good job with them, I'm sure you'll have fun handing them out.
ReplyDeletexo, Megan
I love your cards! That's a really good idea i've been mulling over for my blog (cosmeticsbycortney.com). I think you may have been the last bit of inspiration I needed to do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThose look so cool! :)
ReplyDeleteGetting new business cards is so exciting! I give my cards to pretty much everyone I meet :)
ReplyDeleteThese are incredibly cute business cards! I love them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea! Your blogness cards are perfect! I never thought about something like these for a blog. Are they double sided? I think it is super cute that you took the picture with the fox gloves for it!

Just Let the Sparrows Fly
Yep, the side with the picture of me is the front and the side with the fox mittens is the back.

I made the mistake of ordering business cards right before I started my blog. (I was selling handmade goods at a small co-op at the time, so they were for that and craft fairs.) I so want to order some new ones but I need to use up the old ones first! I really like your foxy mittens cards.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards! I have a postcard for my site w/ all my contact info and a short intro and since I do lots of recipes, a recipe on the reverse side! I think mine came Overnight Prints.
ReplyDeletethey look great! it is very important to have these. i am in the works for some of my own but not until my blog reaches its full potential, lol. --Mila

I love your blogness card, very individual :) I should get some done also...
ReplyDeletethanks for the inspo!

xoxo.
Brilliant! I was looking into my own blog cards after I have been out there for a few more months. I am having a fellow blogger and artist re-create my current look and I am excited to launch it. Cards would be an excellent opportunity to promote the new look. Thanks for sharing!

Wish I knew you. LOVE the cards!! And I collect business cards so that would just be so cool to add to my collection. I love your style, especially your hair!!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great idea, and they're adorable! It's really awkward to explain to strangers what a blog is and why you blog...
ReplyDeletewow. these are great. and a fabulous idea. I agree, nobody ever really gets the whole blog thing. I live in a vey small town in East Texas and it's not a common thing to blog! Might do this myself!
ReplyDeleteThe cards look amazing, I really like the photos you chose. I'd love to get some of these done, but I don't know who I'd give them to! xx
ReplyDeleteYour cards look awesome! I haven't considered blog cards, but I've definitely toyed around with the idea of random compliment cards. I'm such a red-faced stammerer at book signings and conventions, it seems like they'd come in handy there. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those, especially because most people do horizontal prints, the vertical really stands out in a good way : )
ReplyDeleteI've been needing some cards for a long time now. I'll have to look into them. Yours look nice!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have this problem of explaining blog things to strangers when I need to take their picture etc. See, I just start my blog now and I want to encorporate a fashion touch, but when I ask someone to take his photo, he/she doesn't understand -most of the times- and it's so, so weird.... So, yes, I think I'm gonna need them, too! :-)
ReplyDeleteYours are super awesome!
They look awesome :D ♥
ReplyDeleteThese look so amazing! I wish I lived somewhere where I would bump into you and need you to explain your blog to me, LOL, I collect business cards and would love to add this one. XD Yes... I'm a dork XD
ReplyDeleteoh these look amazing!!
ReplyDeletei just love your new blog look, too!
<3
xxo
Those are great cards! I carry mini MOO cards around with me and if I get talking about my blog and shop I give those out. I also have them on the table at craft shows and such. People take them sometimes just because they like the picture. Must be those business card collector types :)
ReplyDeleteThey look absolutely gorgeous! Are they a standard business card size?
ReplyDeleteBlogness cards are such a good idea! Your turned out wonderful. The pictures and description make them even better. cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThese business cards are beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite are the ones where you're wearing the foxy gloves while holding a basket :) they both look great anyways, so pretty!
