the details:
coat - thrifted / vintage
dress - thrifted / vintage
hat - thrifted / vintage
brooch - handmade by my dad
belt - thrifted / vintage
gloves - c/o Uncommon Goods
tights - Target
socks - Kohls
boots - Target
This was our first and only big snow this winter so far. (all of the snow is melted now!) I was so layered up it wasn't even funny. I had dress under the one showing, three pairs of tights and a pair of socks under all of those. But it was worth it because the only part of me that got cold was my face! The wind was whipping so hard I was afraid my tripod was going to blow over!
I completely adore this dress, it kind of reminds me of this one, at least in the style of dress and how it fits. I wish I could have shown it off in this post but it was just to cold to be taking off my coat! I'm sure I'll wear it again soon!
Hope you're having a great day!

I'm Kaylah. thrifting queen.

Adorable outfit, I love each detail. And I might have to come back and refer to this if I visit someplace snowy so I can figure out how to layer better!

ReplyDeleteElycia, Yes Ma'am! Isn't it awesome?!! :D
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit and all the fun little details! I'm also super jealous of your snow- we only just now got cold where I am, and I could do with an inch or two of fluffy white!
ReplyDeleteLucky to have a bit of snow! I'm craving it-raining buckets today. ugh.
ReplyDeleteThat Brooch is awesome! Talented family :)

I think this has to be one of my favorite outfits you've ever posted. I adore the dress and the tights, and I love how the boots match so well. I need to go shoe-shopping at Target more often!
ReplyDeleteWe've had an unusually small amount of snow in Erie too this winter. It makes me worried for what February/March is going to be like! I think we're supposed to get 2-4" tomorrow though, so we'll see -- right now it's just raining!

Your Dad MAKES brooches? Seriously? That's the coolest dad trait I think I've ever heard!

You are looking splendid. I love the raccoon detailing! haha.

Love this outfit! I live in a typically cold climate (although it's been unseasonably warm lately) but I've never thought of layering tights and dresses! LOL, good thinking!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! The white forest in the background is breathtaking. Can't believe the boots are from Target!

I like your outfit with the background :D
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable outfit! I also wanted to say that I like it even MORE because it's almost totally comprised of your own thrift/vintage finds, and not store bought/provided items. Adorable :)
ReplyDeleteCarissa
I've always lived in desert states, so snow and dressing for snow is a completely foreign concept to me. I love this outfit. ALSO, I love how there's snow on one side of the trees!
ReplyDeleteThank you guys so much!! :D
ReplyDeleteCarissa, Thanks but I just wanted to make a note that anything "provided" by a company has been personally picked out by me. I never accept any items that don't fit my style.
I absolutely adore this outfit!
ReplyDeleteSweet mittens! Outfit posts seem like they are a lot of fun to make.
ReplyDeleteThis is so great... I love the plaid on plaid, the boots, and of course the raccoons! Perfect cold-weather outfit!

ReplyDeletei like the print of your dress with your boots. looking swell in the snow kaylah. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my GOD. Love that dress!!! I actually saw one JUST. LIKE. THIS. but didn't have the money. Jealous!
ReplyDeleteI wish our thrift store had better dresses!!! All of the dresses there are SO formal. Like... dinner date/formal party formal. :/ Boo!
I absolutely love this look of yours. The colors are all so pretty together. Love your little raccoon friends too.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
everything here is just perfect
ReplyDeleteThat tree photo at the end is amazing!! Love it. :> And you're looking good as always!!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are from Target!? I can't believe it. I would have snatched those up so fast if I saw them. One major downfall of living in San Francisco is being Target deprived.

I love your boots! And now that I see these amazing pictures in the snow, I really want it to snow in Belgium as well!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable ~ I've loved all your outfits recently.
ReplyDeleteYour raccoons are soooooooo perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit put a big smile on my face. I so wish I had more dresses so I could cleverly (and adorably!) dress for winter. My mom was just saying how I need to buy winter boots, but I refused because I think they're ugly. These are actually pretty adorable! I might just have to go and buy similar ones from Target.
ReplyDeleteWOW! This outfit- with the colors and the prints together?
ReplyDeleteI just adore it :)
Ohmygosh, I love this mix of warm & cozy textures altogether!! :) And those mittens - squeal!
ReplyDeleteHow do you find the fit for the mitts? I just lost my go-to pair :( and these ones are pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite outfit ever ! You look beautiful !
ReplyDeleteIf you haver the time, please, could you take a look at my tiny blog and let me know what you think about it?
Lot of love from France !
