The other day I walked in my living room and saw this sight in my dining room...
Normally my kitties are pretty nuts when they see a stray, or any animal that they don't know hanging out outside but they were just hanging out with this guy like they were good pals. It was the sweetest thing ever. I think Leaf, especially, was smitten with him. During the four or five hours that he hung out on the deck I took so many pictures. He's such a beautiful kitty! I wish we could adopt him. I wonder where he's from, or if he has a home. I especially wonder what his name is, I have yet to name him even though I've named all the other neighborhood strays.
Aren't those eyes hypnotizing?! I am just in love! I hope he continues to visits often. He's been back everyday since. I made him up a little shelter on the deck to protect him from the wind (it's been crazy windy here lately!) and I fill up a little plate of food for him daily.
Oh - and of course, seeing as they're my favorite, I have to include a photo of him with his tongue out...
Hope you have a fabulous day! Elycia and I have some awesome plans, I can't wait!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteso cute!!!!!!! makes me want to have 100s of cats in my house, but one piggy is enough :) xx
ReplyDeleteAlice Barton ♥ The Mow Way
So adorable. My parents have a new stray kitten around who is a total sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteHave you contacted any local cat rescues to see if they would take the stray in? I recently decided to be a foster cat parent (even though I have 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 birds). We're picking her up today! Her name is Ann-Margaret. She was living in a box in someone's backyard. I hope all the animals get along when she comes to visit.
ReplyDelete:) what a sweetie!
ReplyDeletesooo adorable! beautiful cat.
ReplyDeletewe have got a kitten, who is our neighbor's, and he is comes every morning to get feed from us. (sorry for my English, i am Hungarian :D )
With his tongue he is an absolute sweet heart!! He is so lovable kitty!
ReplyDelete(New blog needing some love and support: http://inwhirlofinspiration.blogspot.com)
ohhhhh I would have snapped him up by now! Grey kitties are my favourites, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAwh! He looks like a cat I used to have names Sidney.
ReplyDeleteAwww I can't help but take in strays. It's a good thing my three gigantic dogs generally scare them off, or our house would be full of random animals!
ReplyDeleteFirst time commenting here, love your blog :) Come by for a visit any time! scissorsandsteam.blogspot.com
He's a charmer! We had a neighborhood stray cat growing up I liked to pretend I owned. He had funny jagged tail that was a blunt fluff at the end. I named him guimauve.
ReplyDeletewhat a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist adopting him :)
He is adorable! If he is a stray I would take him in immediately. And the last picture made me giggle, so cute!

I'm not much of a cat lady, but wow at those eyes!!

He really is gorgeous!! I love the last pic!! Your so sweet to set up a little shelter for him. I would have done the same. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteCallmesnakke
I love his eyes!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was little there was an orange stray that visited us every day, and I would go out and pet him. And after I had to go back inside, he would leave, only to visit the next day. It was super sweet!
Oh my gosh, what an adorable kitty! There really is nothing better than a picture of a cat with it's tongue sticking out (^_^) cuteness galore!
ReplyDeleteAw, he has the perfect little heart nose!
ReplyDeleteooooh he is beautiful! gray kitties are my favorite! I want one someday, just like him. And his name will be Trinkilo (a name from Shakespeare's The Tempest). love love love. I would have scoop him up and kept him forever (bad idea but...)
ReplyDeleteOhhh! Strays come by here all the time. The last one hissed and swiped my hubby's face...then waited until the door was open and took off. We kept her separated from our dogs (bunch of dogs) and other kitty. But...she loved me! Its so hard to see strays...just wanna give em a good home! Hearts, janna lynn
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he is thinking,"When are they going to let me in?" He is pretty. I would have 30 cats if I could. lol
ReplyDeleteAwww I would adopt him but I have too many! You should check out my cats on my blog. Your cats are too cute.
ReplyDeleteThose eyes are amazing, as I am typing my cats are deciding to lay on my hands. Geez.

What a beautiful cat! Thank you for caring for this poor guy (or gal). My heart hurts for all the poor stray kitties this time of year. I wonder if he is lost? Regardless, he is very lucky you are looking after him!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is one beautiful cat. Those eyes are absolutely stunning...and together with that wonderful shade of grey!!!!! so wonderful!

My first thought when I saw the title to your post was, "Oh she's getting another kitty!!!" If my husband would let me I'd take in all the strays and make a makeshift adoption center. Not ideal or legal, but eh. hehe..He's a beautiful kitty. I hope he has a home.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: Have you seen, Year of the Dog with Molly Shannon. That's the kind of crazy I try to avoid of myself ;)
What a beautiful cat!! It looks a bit like the cat of my mom, especially the eyes =)
ReplyDeleteGIRL YOU BETTER SWIPE THAT CAT UP!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is just precious! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie. Hopefully he's owned and not really a stray.
ReplyDeleteThere are some feral cat winter shelter building tips here (one of the most common mistakes I see people make is putting blankets or materials that retains water and can freeze in shelters): http://www.NYCFeralCat.org/info-colony.htm#winter
Do you have TNR/subsidized spay/neuter options in your area?
oh my - what a gorgeous stray! i'd have a hard time not taking he/she in! I used to name all the strays in my old neighborhood, too...even took one in. Now I live in an attic apartment in the city so I don't see any strays.
ReplyDeleteI love this so much. :)
ReplyDeletewe have a little outdoor kitty we have "adopted" as well, she has a little shelter outside of our door with blankets over it! one day we'll get her to the vet and bring her in, but she's needed some time getting used to people :)
ReplyDeletelove the little tongue picture - so cute!
KEEP HIM! what a little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteThat kitty is adorable! That picture with Leaf putting his paw on the glass is too cute!!
ReplyDeleteHe's gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a kitty who lives in our neighbourhood who has a huge crush on my kitty and follows her around. When ours are shut in at night he sits outside the back door and meows constantly!
Oh wow, he's a beauty! I hope he sticks around, I'd love to see more of this little guy :)
ReplyDeleteAw such cute cats!
ReplyDeletehttp://haderablog.blogspot.com/
such a pretty boy, I think he looks like a boy;)
ReplyDeleteYou could have him as your "outdoor cat"? hehe I know some people who does that have some inside, and some outside cats;) Like you could have him come inside and cuddle, and let him go outside on walks in the evening.. If no one owns him that is;)
Super cute.

Oh man, what an angel! There was a beautiful stray cat sitting on my car last night when I went to head to the store. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable, so I put him on my boyfriend's car instead. He was so fluffy!
ReplyDeleteAw, how sweet and adorable!
ReplyDeleteHow cute!! There have been a lot of strays hanging around our apartments the last few months but there is this one little gray/black one that I just want to snatch up and bring inside. The main thing stopping me is the fear of my cat eating it! Rinoa can be quite a biddy sometimes. xD
ReplyDeleteAwww! Leaf looks so sweet. He looks like he wants him to come in. So cute! I have four myself...I don't know if I'd be able to not bring him in. His eyes are beautiful. He looks like a Griffin to me...well if he's a he! Yep...like the mythological creature! : ) It's so sweet you've set up house for him outside. Maybe your little lions can tell you care about him!...*wishful thinking*
ReplyDeleteAre your cats allowed to go outside? I'm just asking because I keep my cats inside and maybe you've got some tips how to keep cats entertained in a house/flat...
ReplyDeletegoodness he's so pretty! I hope he has a home and he was just checking out the other kitties in the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteAw, how gorgeous! I'm curious - are your cats allowed outdoors, or are they indoor cats?
ReplyDeleteOh, he's such a pretty cat! There's a little gray cat down the street that I always stop and pet with for a bit - he belongs to someone else or I would have brought him home ages ago, haha.
ReplyDeleteWe had a cat show up at our place like this years ago. We named him Outtie. After days we broke down and fed him, made him a little outdoor bed but one day when we looked out and his whiskers were all icy we broke down and let him in.
ReplyDeleteHe was the greatest cat, we got him all fixed up at the vet but our other cats never warmed up to him, even though we thought he was awesome. We found him another great home eventually.
What an absolute cutie! You gotta adopt him :O
ReplyDeleteaww! i love naming the neighborhood strays, too! i wish i could hoard them all but we already have 3 at home :)
ReplyDeleteAw!! That's so sweet; it sounds stupid, but it makes me happy that they're people like you--who care enough to help protect random strays. Oh, and I adore that last picture!
ReplyDeletexoxo
He's so cute! There's a whole group of stray cats in the woods at a Target parking lot in my town. People come and leave food for them, and even made 'cat houses' out of plastic containers, but it's so sad to see them without homes. It makes me sad - I want to rescue every stray cat and take them home with me! Lol! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous kitty! It's good that you didn't try to bring him in and adopt him, but I bet you've just made a lifelong pal!

Lizzy
Wow what a beautiful kitty!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, kitty heaven! I think the stray wants to join your feline posy. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable ^_^
ReplyDeleteI like the fact you give him dishes of food and make him a little shelter, that is so thoughtful of you! Tehe and I do love it when kitties stick their tongues out, they sure know how to turn the cute factor on even more :)
he is so adorable!! if he hasnt got a home you should defo adopt him :) I adopted my stray cat...called him mittens and he is beautiful x
ReplyDeleteEeeep! He has the most awesome colour fur ever! Maybe you should make signs saying "found kitty! Collect in one week or he will be adopted!" I think you should call him Silver Fox! Silv or foxy for short! Or fox-meister for long? (ahem... If you get around to keeping him...) :)
ReplyDeleteWow what a handsome kitty!! Reminds me so much of the one I had when I was younger. Same beautiful grey stripes and green eyes.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly how I began to take care of a stray cat for the past three years. He came into my backyard about a week after I got my cat and thought he was trying to lure him or something (turns out of course he was looking for homes with cats to be fed). My cat had extra food and my mom decided to put a bowl out and he ravished it. Poor cat, we spent a week trying to scare him off and it turns out he wasn't just an outdoor cat, but homeless. Now he, Contessa, is an absolute part of my life! Makes my heart warm that you put out food for that charmer! So hoping with your weather, it wasn't abandoned.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous stray kitty! I have a stray living in the yard behind my house at the moment, and she has a little of kittens. They're totally adorable.
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable!! I am a kitty lover, too. There are two strays that live in my complex, and while I love them, my kitties are not as friendly.
ReplyDeleteW. :)
What a gorgeous kitty! How wonderful that your other kitties took kindly to him
ReplyDeleteI adopted a stray kitty that looks just like your visitor. His name is Gravy.
ReplyDeleteAww, what a gorgeous kitty!
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I wish my cats were that nice to strays. >.< My cats are just a bunch of grouches. :/
ReplyDeleteOH!!! What a lovely kitty. His eyes ARE hypnotizing! Have you checked local lost and found ads? I never know what to do when I find a stray. My first instinct is take them in, pamper them and adopt them... But, I know a LOT of people let their kitties run around without a collar. :( And I don't want to take in someone's cat!!!
ReplyDeleteSo I settle with lost and found ads and hope I can help! I'm so glad this little sweety has a safe haven by you!!!
He's such a gorgeous kitty!
ReplyDeleteSadly, my cat wouldn't have been as friendly as yours.
The photos are adorable :D ♥
I would have been so tempted to keep him! Strays of any kind always make my heart melt.
ReplyDelete<3
Beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteOh me, oh my!
ReplyDeleteHe is just charming!
I have a collection of cats that come scratching at my door for food every day. Although, I don't think they're stray but just greedy neighbours!
Anyway, I thought you might be interested in this:

ReplyDeleteI hope he finds a home!

Wow! Great action photos! Love what you captured.
ReplyDeletewow, he really is pretty and these photos are adorable!
ReplyDeletei'm willing to guess that he isn't a homeless, he looks pretty well fed... but then again it looks like you pretty much live in the woods, so he probably has a lot of wild food options over your way :)
He's so beautiful. I would want to adopt him as well.
ReplyDeleteAww, these pictures are so precious!
ReplyDeletekeep him!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww! The stray cat looks just like our Kafka. He was a stray cat too before we took him in. :)

Is cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love his green eyes, are wonderful!
http://wheniretiremyhair.blogspot.com
That is a really pretty cat. I love his color.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful green eyes :)
ReplyDeleteHe looks very well fed so he may belong to someone nearby who keeps him as an indoor/outdoor cat. I wouldn't just scoop him up and take him to a shelter! We used to let our cats outside and made sure our neighbors knew they belonged to us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous cat!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for strays too :) He sure is a pretty kitty! I hope he has a nice comfy home and is just making the neighborhood rounds...
ReplyDeleteGotta love the perfectly heart-shaped nose!
ReplyDeleteI looooooove cats and I applaud you for being so kind to strays. Your kindness will be repaid a hundredfold in so many ways! :)
ReplyDeleteOmgosh! How crazy! That grey little fella looks identical to my guy, Brodie. Like could be his twin. I should dig up a picture to show you the comparison.
ReplyDeletePS. Your kitty family is adorable! Oohhh cat love
Gorgeous eyes and what a perfect heart shaped nose!
