Wild For Wedges!

When I was in third grade I wanted to be a Spice Girl, they always had the best shoes. I had so many ridiculous pairs of platform shoes, and they could never be high enough for me. Eventually I stopped wearing them, more recently (the last five years) I don't wear shoes that give me any amount of height because Kevin isn't very tall, and I don't really like to be taller than him.

But on a recent shopping trip I tried on a pair of wedges just to be silly and both Kevin and I agreed they were pretty fabulous (errr, he said they were "cute", I though they were fabulous) and that the height difference really wasn't as bad as we thought it would be! Sadly they didn't have my size so I passed them up but now I'm on the hunt. I can't even begin to count the number of awesome shoes I've decided against over the years because they had any amount of heel.

Here are some I've been ogling over the last few days! I sure do love ridiculous shoes! ;)

  1. The last two are my favourites. I messed my ankles up by wearing super-flat shoes for too long, so now I'm pretty much stuck wearing one inch heels all the time - if you need an added excuse to buy some wedges, feel free to repeat what I just said!

  2. This post screams at me! When I was in grade school, I so badly wanted to be a Spice Girl, too. I had tons of platforms and shoes, hahah. I think my parents thought I was crazy. I've always loved shoes, and Geoff hates them because he is also not very tall! I've been able to get away with most of my shoes so far, though. My highest pair makes me (at best) the same height or an inch taller. I love #2 and #4!

  3. I love wedges! They are so comfortable and give me the height I need. Hubby is 6'2" and I'm 5'2"!

  7. Definitely support the wedge comeback! I can't wear regular heel very much. My feet suffer too much. Wedges are a great alternative. I love feeling tall and sexy!

i remember having platforms when i was a kid--and yes, because of the spice girls!

i only have one pair of wedges now, and only very low heels in general because my boyfriend is not too much taller than i am... pretty sure when i wear my wedges i'm taller than he is!

I didn't used to wear wedges/heels EVER, but I've recently become obsessed. All of these wedges are gorgeous, especially #3!

  12. I never wear wedges either because I'm quite tall already and I don't think I'd be able to walk in them. I did have the childhood dream of becoming a Spice Girl though.

These wedges are so lovely. The brown ones are more my style but I am drawn to the pink ones.

  13. #4 and #3 are awesome. I love wedges because I'm a short girl, so I pretty much come up to eye level with everyone else when I wear them. Except I'm really clumsy, so I'm not very good at walking in them!

  15. Definitely #3,#2 & #5 are my favorites. Doubt I could walk in them though, haha. I remember when I was a kid I tried on my dad's platform shoes (similar to #2,but in black) that he wore back in 1978 to my parent's wedding. Good times.

  22. haha I had platforms when I was in elementary school for the exact same reason :D I was always kind of bummed that they didn't make 10" ones for nine years olds though..

And honestly I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pair of Union Jack boot platforms.
