The book says "365 questions, 5 years, 1,825 answers". It's like a mini journal. Each day it has a question for you to answer. They're just simple questions, things you can answer with a just a sentence or less. Here a few examples;
- "When was the last time you worked out?"
- "What did you have for dinner?"
- "Waking up was _____"
- "If you had to move to a new city, where would you move?"
- "What motivated you today?"
You can start any time in the year and in any year since you fill in the years yourself! I can't wait to see my answers change over the years. I've always loved filling out questionnaires and things like that so this is just up my alley!
Is anyone else doing this book or any of the similar ones? I saw a few different kinds, including this one
xoxo

Woooow! I might have to get that..... Sea Marie
ReplyDeleteOh wow. This is awesome. I think one of the reasons I stopped journaling was because I ran out of that teenage passion that makes everything soooo important. Having prompts would help me get back into it.
ReplyDeletejust my kind of thing! i so have to get one :)
ReplyDeleteI made my own - just a box of little slips of paper cut from colorful calendar photos - the date on front and I write on back a line about what happened that day. Been doing it for over 18 months now, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool. My Journal is this little book called "A Line a Day.":
ReplyDeletehttp://www.chroniclebooks.com/index/main,book-info/products_id,8292/title,One-Line-a-Day-A-Five-Year-Memory-Book/
It looks like it's roughly the same size, and it has a page for each day of the year. Then each page is split into five parts so that the journal lasts you five years. It's really interesting to see what I was doing a year ago. I love the idea behind this one too :)
I keep a journal where I write a line or three about what I did that day. It's awesome looking back and seeing what I was doing four years ago.
ReplyDeleteAh, that is AWESOME!!! I am also a lover of filling out questioners and what have you!
ReplyDeleteI love that! Thanks for the recommendation! I love filling out forms and answering questions. its so weird. haha.
ReplyDeletewow. what a great idea. I've never heard of these books before. I'll have to check it out. I love reading old posts that I wrote a year ago to see how life has changed, so this book is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteMan, you are so badass i love your blog so much
ReplyDeletef yeah gurl you are the master of everything great btw
^_^ meow meow
That's such a cute idea that I've just gone and bought one! Looking forward to seeing how much I change in the next 5 years! Thankyou for showing these ^_^
ReplyDeletex
I have both this one as well as one line a day. Have had them for some months now and have written in them every single day since.
ReplyDeleteSince I'm going on a holiday in a few days I copied all the questions of that period so I can continue without taking the actual book with me:)
That looks like a lot of fun. I'd be really interested to see how I grow & change over that amount of time. Might have to get it.
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like a fun book...but what I really want to know is how is it that your Mac keys are rainbow? LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThat's nifty. I agree -- a full-blown journal is too much for me to keep up with anymore, but something short and sweet like this might be fun!

I love the look of this :D Thanks for sharing! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I'd love to see how I've changed.
ReplyDeleteSidenote, where did you get your keyboard stickers (?)? They're amazing!
love this book. can't wait to get one of my own! it would be fun as days comes back around to share some of the changes.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to save up for my trip to Florida (Disney Wordl! Universal Studios! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!) but you continuously show your readers the most awesome things like this. I want this book!
ReplyDeletei now, actually want to own this! it's right up my alley.
ReplyDeletehttp://honeybeelane.blogspot.com/
what an awesome recommendation!! i think i am going to do this!!
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I all ended up with a copy of this at the beginning of the year. We absolutely LOVE it! We have fun some nights flipping through and reading our answers to funny or thought provoking questions out loud.
ReplyDeletei have a five year diary and i've been keeping it for a little over a year now. i don't write in it every single day, but it's SO weird to see the parallels and patterns that crop up with each day! for example, a year ago yesterday i got a tattoo from my friend o'ryan. and yesterday i accompanied another friend who was getting a tattoo from o'ryan! without my 5 year diary i would never have known that i had gotten my tattoo on july 8th or that i was doing a weirdly similar thing exactly one year later.
ReplyDeletei got the book in February and I answer the questions on my blog. It's a lot of fun, enjoy!
ReplyDeletethanks for the recommendation kaylah! i really love books like this (and books in general :P) because it's kind of easy and i really don't like the questions that make me think lol like "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" so i will be getting this sometime. i'm also looking forward to reading jaycee dungard's book.
ReplyDeleteI got one of these books for my birthday back in April. I absolutely LOVE it, I keep it on my computer desk & really look forward to filling it out everyday (sometimes I even snap an Instax photo that pertains to the question & tape it in on that page). I have kept up with it & haven't missed a day yet! I can't wait to have it full of 5 years worth of my babbling... :)
ReplyDeleteWow this is such a clever idea! I've seen a bunch of similar books at Barnes & Noble where you can record something or even random lists. Thanks for the share!

This is a really simple but brilliant idea. I like recording every little piece of info down, for some reason, so I might give it a look!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I would love one of these !
ReplyDeleteWow, this is awesome! Definatly something I'd like doing. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeletei saw that book at anthro and seriously carried it around with me for a half hour before deciding not to get it :(
ReplyDeletei wish i would have... but it still would be fun to make one yourself, and ask yourself something every day of the year. fun!
Definitely need this!
ReplyDeletethis is an awesome suggestion. i got 2 of the "listography" books & i have been looking for something like this. i ordered mine today as an early bday present for myself hehehehe. thanks for the suggestion! <3
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome - I'm definitely going to get one! I have the "One Line a Day: A Five Year Memory Book" already (coming up on my one-year anniversary of writing in it!), I love it, but often I feel like I don't know what to write about. Having a fun prompt each day would be really fun!

ReplyDeleteOh this is a fabulous idea. I turned 25 this year and the next 5 years are going to be filled with a bunch of new/exciting/trying times [returning to education & changing career] so this journal is perfect for me right now. Ordered one online, can't wait for it to get here.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for drawing my attention to wonderful things!
Wow, this looks really cool!
ReplyDeleteI have the line a day journal and absolutely love it, what kind of questions are in the Q&A a day book?
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome! I need one!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO awesome!! I love it!! :) I'm the same way, I love q&a things...I always used to do those online/email train filly outtys! (probably in excess)...I can't wait to get this!
ReplyDeletei just saw this diary in Anthropologie and fell in love but it was a little out of my price range, luckily i came home and after a little scout online i found it £5 cheaper and discovered your wonderful blog too. bonus!-x-
ReplyDeleteHow funny, I thought the same thing when I saw the sentence a day, but I can totally do a question! Just picked it up :D
ReplyDeletewow! this sounds like an awesome journal to have! I always get sidetracked with journaling, but this sounds like something I could do. thank you for the tip!

ReplyDeleteI love this book!!! It is one of our favorite gift items!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the 1 line a day journal. I'm on my second year, it's a little bit wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI have this same exact book! I got it for Christmas last year and I love to look back even a couple months and see what I was thinking.
ReplyDeletein my amazon basket, I think this is going to be so interesting! Thank you Kaylah. :)

Thanks to you, i've bought mine and receive it today. Beyond the concept itself, the book is a beautiful object :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I've been looking for a book like this for awhile now and it seems perfect! I'm going to buy it ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI have this same one and have just loved using it. Such an unique idea, a small thought or memory from the day that will trigger others, which otherwise may have fallen by the wayside.
ReplyDeleteHow strange! I have this journal and love it. Have you managed to keep it up? I'm looking forward to seeing how my outlook changes over the years :)
