I know I've been mentioning for weeks that I'm going to show you my new designs but didn't. Well, the first time I forgot, the second I was half way through the shop update and wanted to finish before the big blog reveal! So here are some peaks at what I've been working on lately....
The Dainty Squid shop got a total face lift. All my super cutesy fabrics? GONE! Boring white backgrounds? GONE! It was beyond time for something new. Working for yourself isn't so great when you're not super stoked to go into work everyday. So... commence fabric cupboard dumping and now I'm really excited with where this is heading.
I've been doodling designs in my journal (I actually filled my allotted space for this month and had to tape in new pages!!), jotting down color patterns I think will look great together, hunting for new vintage prints and just generally feeling more inspired than ever!! I feel like I'm on my way to exactly where I want to be.
What's in the future for The Dainty Squid shop?
Monthly new clutch designs!
Lots of vintage prints - meaning you won't find something like it anywhere else!
More one of a kind items!

ReplyDeleteAmazing new designs!
ReplyDeleteYou should be really proud of yourself Kaylah :)
I really like the third one, the colors make me feel like I'm on the beach, and the buttons remind me of little shells.
Your pictures are also much more appealing.

ReplyDeleteThese are seriously so amazing!!
ReplyDeleteYou new designs look so "grown up" and I like it! :)
ReplyDeleteThey're gorgeous, Kaylah! I've had the past couple days off work and have been sewing and watching MacGyver instant on Netflix. So lucky you get to sew as your job! hehe :D

ReplyDeleteThese all look amazing! Have you ever thought of making things like crochet hook organizers or knitting needle organizers? Etsy has a fair few but none in such amazing styles and fabrics as these!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Doll!
ReplyDeleteIts awesome that you are feeling inspired again, and your new direction is so beautiful!
Quick question - are you planning on getting rid of any of your old cutesy fabrics in your destash shop?
Luvluv xx

Ohmigoodness ohmigoodness! I love the "new" shop! Great job! I'm in there shopping around right now. I love your color choices and the patterns are great. I love that you'll be using vintage fabrics more too! I can't wait to see.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I also wanted to let you know that you've been a huge influence on me and my wardrobe lately. Your color love is contagious, and I also just bought three new nail polishes (melon, that vintage yellow and mint). Haven't bought ANY in years!! Rock on chica!
Amazing! They look like origami! I want to adopt one (or more!)
ReplyDeleteI love where you're going with these. Your enthusiasm is infectious! I am super pumped for you & I can't wait for all the future shop updates.
ReplyDeletemaybe this could be helpful for color combinations (if you don't already know of it)
