I cannot believe how gorgeous it was yesterday! I went outside to take photos with the thought "I'm gonna freeze because I'm not wearing tights" and ended up having to shed my sweater because I was sweating within' minutes. I am 100% not complaining. It smelled so good outside too - like spring (FINALLY!) and there were all kind of birds singing! Eeeee! I can't even express how excited I am for spring to be here.
Speaking of being outside - this is kind of a big deal for another reason. Since moving to the "*city" I've had this really weird thing about going outside alone, I always feel like people are watching me and it totally freaks me out. I think it started when one of the neighbors across the street asked Kevin where we had gone the day before because I was "dressed all fancy". The thing is he was inside the house when he noticed this. Not really big deal, but it made me feel really weird. And another time I saw one of my next door neighbors peeking through the fence. But I'm not going to waste gorgeous days inside because I feel like people are looking at me, because for one - they're probably not. Two- who cares if they are?! So here's to taking steps in not being such a strangely shy lady! :)
*City goes in quotes because we don't live in the city city, we live in a fairly small town but this is the first time in my life I've had neighbors. I'm a country girl who grew up in the middle of the woods, this is a big change for me!
Hope you're having a lovely Wednesday!
xoxo!

ADORABLE OUTFIT! Love the dress and menswear hats look so good on ladies!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm like you with neighbors. I hate having noisy neighbors. I have been known to hide behind a pine tree when I randomly see someone is out in their yard and know they can see me. *cough*
Love the outfit and your nails!! Your polka dots are PERFECT! I want to learn to do them so well!
ReplyDeletecute as always. really love your style =)
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the sweater clip! Looks really practical :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your sweater clip!! That's totally adorable, how did you make it? Your nails never cease to make me smile =) x
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is AMAZING. I love it. I know how you feel about cities- yesterday I went outside to hoop for a while, and I wasn't even out there a minute before the old man next door was sitting on his porch watching me. I was so creeped out I went back inside.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how hard I try, I can not pull of that dress cut. Sigh. I love your nails!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater clip! xxx
ReplyDeletecute outfit! love the dress.
ReplyDeleteLovely Spring outfit and nails! I'm with you on the excitement for Spring, and the creepiness of being watched! But you are right, you have to ignore - they probably either not noticing anyways or else are just please to see someone out and about and happy.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute outfit! :)
ReplyDeleteespecially love the sweater clip! x
Oh my gosh I love everything about this post! Your nails, the dress, the sweater (the tattoos). You're awesome!
ReplyDeleteI adore "sweater clip" !! So adorable!!
ReplyDeleteKisses ^_^
Love the outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until it's warm here! It was warm for like an hour yesterday and then started to pour for the rest of the day..
ReplyDeleteLove those sweater clips, you should do a tutorial!!
I understand the feeling you're talking about, it happended to me in some kind of way. I moved from the big city (where no one knows you and people don't look at you) to a smaller town where the neighbours notice and talk to you! I know it's not exactly the same to you but it feels weird too. I guess it's just a matter of time until we both get used to it :)
ReplyDeleteThey were only looking to admire your amazingly adorable outfits & to get a sneak peek before we do!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! People stare because you look different. You look like a human flower and inside you are making them smile with delight and also a tad bit of curious.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much! :)
ReplyDeleteMeg Needles, ew, that is creepy!
Amy Lynn, I was actually thinking about it! Maybe I will :)
Laia, I know exactly what you mean! I guess that's what I figured it would be like here but noooope.
and if they are looking at you it's cause you're a total stunner Kaylah! for real. it's just one of the burdens of being so damn cute!
ReplyDeleteOh shush up pretty lady! ;)
ReplyDeleteI live in a sub-division and and all my neighbors always spy on us. The old lady who lives next door to us will peek through her fence into our backyard. And one time my other neighbors got their daughter to see what my dad was doing by standing behind a tree right at our fence. I don't know what's wrong with some people. :/
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your outfit looks really good with your hair. :)
I am seriously gushing over your hair.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a stylish badass...I LOVE IT. You are inspiring girl.
ReplyDeleteOh man :/ That's why I hate living in apartments. People feel the need to talk to you, and they are always outside eyeballing you. Also, someone's patio is right in front of my parking space, so I always pull up and they're outside smoking and looking like they should be on "people of walmart", with their pooh bear pajamas and whatnot. haha
ReplyDeleteHa, I almost bought that same cardigan from target, but put it back because I didn't have anough/decided I wanted a dark green one. Living in a stupid small town my whole life, I'm used to people watching me, thinking I'm strange and saying things. But that doesn't stop me from going on in awesome outfits, elf ears and tons of green eyeshadow posing for pictures on the front lawn!
ReplyDeleteyou MADE the sweater clip?? ummm maybe a diy tutorial?? hehe : )
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you're so shy- you look very confident and cute in your pictures :) Take it one step at a time, lady! Share your progress.
ReplyDeleteyea it's romper time!!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait to wear all mine! i love your entire outfit but i must ask...where did you find that pin? i have been looking for something like that for my CAPE!
ReplyDeletexo,
cb
Love the outfit.
ReplyDeleteThat is really creepy that he saw you from inside...
So cute! I love your hat! :)
ReplyDeletei love your style and the colours here are just brilliant.
ReplyDeletei bought that dress!! but returned it because it didn't look right on me. i think it was just too big though and now i want another one!
ReplyDeleteI can´t believe your neighbor said that!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have to enjoy your garden :)
Lovely pictures <3
ReplyDeletecute nails!
ReplyDeletegah! i really really want ur hair! its so so amazing! im thinking about dying the tips of mine blue... but im not sure if its 'too' trendy... haha i really really love your sweater clip!!! tutorial??
ReplyDeletei like the color combo on your nails :) it's one of the first i did when i started alternating!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog ,i love your stile!
ReplyDeleteI love that flower chain on your sweater. So cute!
ReplyDeletecb, I made it from two vintage clip on earrings. It was super easy!
ReplyDelete:)
Awesome outfit. Did you take all these photos with a tripod or did someone take them for you? I am dying to get some pictures of myself outdoors but it so hard because I don't have a tripod or anything, just my parents who aren't patient enough to take good pictures!
ReplyDeleteI guess if I wasn't used to neighbors, it would be really weird to all of a sudden be living in a neighborhood. But I'm totally a city girl, and whenever I step outside I just assume someone is watching me(not in a creepy way!). My Dad often sits in the living room and gives us reports on what's going on in the house across the street... like "oh so-and-so moved out and took the mattress!" or "so-and-so must be on vacation this week cuz I haven't seen them around since Tuesday." But he's well meaning, not creepy. Just interested!
the way I see it is, if they were watching you it is probably because they find you interesting enough to watch :]
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute...and I am so happy to see you toss some of that shyness to the wind and go enjoy yourself! :) Hearts, Janna Lynn
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteI just adore your outfit.
and your blue hair is looking so heathly.
xo
Oh my gosh I love your blue hair. :)
ReplyDeletei love your hat, i want the same !!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so sweet ...
oh! you must show us a tutorial on how to make those cardigan clips! I have wanted one for... well... ever!
ReplyDeleteEeee, love the cardigan clip - and this whole outfit, as a matter of fact. It's so weird that it's getting warm for you, but getting cold for me, over in Australia.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a big adjustment moving from one type of place to another type of place. I did the big city to small town move when I was a teenager, and I remember feeling the same way you do.
Liz, yep, I have a tripod and a remote! Both were really cheap - the tripod from the thrift store for a few bucks and the remote from ebay for $2. Totally worth the "investment". :)
ReplyDeleteMiss Peregrin, that is so weird!
Thank you all so much!!! <333
You're so cute! I don't know why, but this is my favourite 'what I wore' post!
ReplyDeleteI really understand where you're coming from. I live in a big city and still to this day I can't get used to it. I know I have pink hair but still, why are people looking?! haha
You'll get used to it, they're probably looking because you're so pretty! (: x
Cuteness! I love that sweater clip I really could have used that yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI feel you on the neighbor situation. Luckily we are moving on Sat. This guy is the biggest downer and will come out anytime we get home or leave...once i snuck through the backyard to get something out of the car after almost being spotted and running back in the front door. Ugh.
loooooove your nails! :D
ReplyDeletegreat posts on the hair stuff - I reealllllly wanna go back to purple :P
ps - buttons are awesome!
Sometimes it feels weird to know my neighbors can see me and my family often- but since we've lived here (4 years) we've gotten to know all of our neighbors and I actually really appreciate that people are looking out for us. None of them are even close to our ages (I'm 25, my hubby is 30) and we are kind of the "oddballs" of the neighborhood since we have tattoos and everything.. But everyone is respectful of eachother and its a small little community. Last spring our neighbor came over and told us about some strange activity that had been happening around our houses at night. I was over the TOP appreciative of that. I love that they were informing us and looking out for us. I'd honestly do the same if I saw anything questionable. If you try and get to know your neighbors a little bit over time, it can really help you in the long run. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, please please do a tutorial for your sweater clip!
ReplyDeleteOh, I bought exactly those shoes on my first trip to London in '85. I wore them to bits so mine are definitely not the ones you thrifted. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable!
ReplyDelete♥
Meanz (Koi Story)
first things firts, that deer behind you under the tree! How awesome is he!? I had to double take because I thought that you might actually of had a deer sitting behind you, that would have been double awesome!
ReplyDeleteand secondly, bless your cottons! I feel exactly the same 75% of the time. If i 'think' about how i'm going to be outside on my own then I tend to over think it and get a little scared, but then if I just do it and don't realise i'm out there on my own then i'm fine! Well done to you though!
