Eeep! I've still been pretty bad at sharing thrifty finds. For a while I was in the habit of sharing almost every Monday but somehow fell out of that habit and now I continually forget to photograph my finds. I need to work on this because I love going back and looking through my old thrifty finds posts. It helps me to stay positive when I've had a slow weekend of thirfting.
Lately I've been finding lots of clothes! I'm trying to stock up on shorts and the like for summer time. It's so hard to find shorts in the stores that aren't way too short not to mention they're only a fraction of the cost at thrift stores! Ooh, ohh and pre-broken in! I love really soft denim, the kind that's only from constant wearing and washing.
Other than clothes I've picked up...

Two new houses for my collection! The one is a music box that plays "Love Song" as the couple spins. It was too charming to pass up despite my already full hutch.
snazzy new shoes for slipping on in the summer time!
this beautiful baby blue typewriter. It's in working condition but looks oh so pretty displayed in the dining room!
a ridiculous pot holder. I thrifted a similar one that was a cat a while back. Now I'm on the hunt for one in almost every animal.

and a gorgeous enamel flower pin. My collection of enamel is growing - very slowly, but still growing!

I was wondering...
ReplyDeleteHow many shoes do you have in total? In most of your thrifty finds there's a new pair :p
Must be a large collection by now!
Hugs
That typewriter is beautiful! I also love the oven mitt :D
ReplyDeleteI envy your weather house collection. They're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes yes I just found brand new moccasins for 2€. Score!
I was wondering if you could share your steps to cleaning your thrifty-clothes you find! I'm always a little nervous about buying second-hand (especially shoes) because I'm not sure if I'm really getting them clean enough!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
I haven't been thrifting in far too long!
ReplyDeleteI love your little houses! I have a small (growing) collection of cuckoo clocks.
ReplyDeleteMy latest find was a pair of tin salt and pepper shakers with some awesome lettering all over. I'm terrible at sharing my thrifty finds too - case in point - no pic of the shakers to share. :(
I recently found a cuckoo clock/weather house that reminded me of you

ReplyDeleteHOLY COW, Rae, that is beautiful! I am insanely jealous!!!
wow, lucky girl, that typewriter is AWESOME! I have one too, from my mum, but it´s really not that good looking ;P i´ve picked up a rainbow bead-curtain lately which will go into my van; and last weekend i´ve picked a nice stripey body warmer, which i posted on my blog, if you´d like to see it!
ReplyDeleteI found a beautiful black and white floral head scarf, it was £2 (:
ReplyDeleteThat type writer is insanely gorgeous! x
Those weather houses are pretty unique, I have never heard of them before today. My favorite find in a thrift store I got about 15 years ago, it's a 1940's black lace swim suit and it looks great with my doc's :)
ReplyDeleteWe have pig and cow pot holders like that at work (TJ Maxx)
ReplyDeleteI recently found an epic elephant ring at a thrift store! You can see a picture here:

I have a pot holder like that, but it's a wolf! You might think I'm crazy but I'd love to mail it to you if you want :) It's new with its tag, I got it as a present but it's too funny for me to use it so I put it in a drawer waiting for a chance to give it to someone who would love it. You don't know me but I have been reading your blog for a bit and I like you :) so I'd be happy to give it to you! I am in Rome Italy so don't worry, I promise I am not going to stalk you or anything ^__^, just let me know if you'd like it and it will be a RAK from me :) [serena1977ATgmailDOTcom]
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that typewriter! I've been trying to write some stories I've had built up in my head, but its not the same on a laptop!

ReplyDeleteman... i saw when you posted that potholder on instagram and i was instantly jealous! i'm rather impressed with all of these finds actually. kudos lady :)
ReplyDeleteYour thrift stores are so much cooler than mine, judging by your posts! I usually only buy records for .25 each... I have all manor of vinyl now, from Polka to kids audio books to Pink Floyd and beyond! I really want to start looking for enamel brooches... you have me into them!
ReplyDeleteare the shoes by "soho"? I think I recently found the same pair but in periwinkle. cute pins!
ReplyDeleteThat pot holder is fantastic! And I love your kitty's expression - I'm not sure he's sold on the shoes ;)

ReplyDeleteI loooove the little bavarian houses you collect. I have one much like the first picture...and I love it..they are so cute. It always reminds me of this town I love to go to in Michigan. Frankenmuth...very Germanic...tons of adorable shops and the biggest holiday decoration store in the planet. Have a great Wednesday! Hearts, Janna Lynn
ReplyDeleteOhh devine daisy pin! So pretty!! And I am super envious of the typewriter - I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a mint green or baby blue one, but they are hard to find in Australia :( Sad panda.
ReplyDelete<3 luvluv

ReplyDeleteI *love* the flower pin!
my housemate has a very similar weather clock as your spinning couple one! it's so helpful to know when it is going to rain or not : )

Love everything!! You always blog such great thrift finds, I'd love to see the places in which you shop. Maybe you could take pics next time you're out and do a special blog post?! Also, do you do yard sales as well? I can't remember...
ReplyDeleteI recently found the most awesome coaster set while thrifting. Each coaster has a different, real pressed set of butterfly wings in them! I blogged them if you'd like to have a look.
Ciao Bella posted some pics of bouquets made of enamel pins. Gorgeous.
