What's in my camera bag changes with the season. My camera bag in Spring, Summer and Fall is a lot heavier than during the winter months. I thought it might be kind of fun to what's in my camera bag now.
I rotate between three bags, the regular looking one
that you probably picture when you think of a camera bag, Lowepro SlingShot
and Lowepro Passport Sling
which is the one pictured above. Neither of the three are particularly pretty but when it comes to camera bags I'm all about functionality before looks. The Lowepro one's are my favorite, they can hold a lot, safely and all the pockets are easy to access so you can quickly change lens or grab more film.
So what's in my bag....
, who I still love as much as the day I bought her!!
And that's that! Remind me and in summer time I'll show you what's in my bag then! ;)
xoxo!
So what's in my bag....
film, of course. 35mm & lots of instax film.
Two thrifted 35mm cameras. I love these silly looking cameras, they both work great and are fairly small. I keep them both my bag just in case Kevin forgets his camera and wants to shoot or one runs out of film while I'm in the middle of shooting and there isn't time to load new film.
Macro Filters
. My favorite camera "accessory" ever. I have a +1,+2,+4 and a +10. They work wonders. I don't know what I did without them. Here's an example of what the +2 can do. I think these should be in everyone's camera bag!
My instax mini
, of course. She goes everywhere with me. (Speaking of, I'll do a little 52 weeks of instax update soon! It's been a while)
Gum, wax for my braces, chapstick (those three are essentials everywhere I go!) two garbage bags and two ziplock bags. Why the garbage bags? One to kneel on and the other to place my bag on! I like to get photos from all different perspectives and a lot of the time the ground is wet. The ziplock bags? To collect things - acorns, leaves, flowers, etc.
Three lenses. From tallest to shortest; 75-300mm Zoom Lens
. Perfect for capturing animals without disturbing them (Like my squirrel pictures!). Next is just a standard 18-55mm. I really only use it with my macro lens. Last but not least my 50mm. It's my go-to lens and is almost always on my camera. That's something else I think should be in everyone's camera bag, it's an amazing lens.
Not pictured: my Canon 60DThree lenses. From tallest to shortest; 75-300mm Zoom Lens
And that's that! Remind me and in summer time I'll show you what's in my bag then! ;)

I'm Kaylah. thrifting queen.

Awesome! I love seeing what is in everyone's camera bags. I'm going to check out those macro filters, I love taking macro photography! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThat macro filter really is amazing. I've been trying to save up for a really nice camera...still trying, haha.
ReplyDeleteYay carpet!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff you have there :)
cool. those instax minis look like way too much fun. i've been very tempted to get one lately.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to see inside other people's bags! That looks pretty heavy, though ;)
ReplyDeleteoh also, I noticed you're using a 50mm... have you considered upgrading to the f1.4? I'm thinking of making the investment, meant to be a bit more sturdy than the f1.8!
ReplyDeleteKim, not really. I don't think there is anything wrong with the f1.8 and I'm a big believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" ;)
ReplyDeletehum yeh, that's true!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tricky decision. I'm using a 550d, and the 1.8 seems fine for me, but I've been told that the 1.4 is *even better*... eek! I have a wedding to shoot in August so have considered upgrading for that!
Although....after reading some of those reviews it does sound tempting....
ReplyDeleteI wish I could just test things out before putting out the money for them. I would gladly pay the $400 for it if I knew for a fact I would absolutely adore it.
NIce selection. I like to keep a light reader in mine and tons of batteries, as neither my manual or digital SLRs are rechargeable, which I like because it will never run out of charge, as long as there is a supply off batteries or a shop!!
ReplyDeleteI love my 50mm so much! I have a wide angle but I NEVER use it! :) I have a 100mm 1.8 on my list for my next lens! :)
ReplyDeleteNeat! I love seeing inside peoples bags. I keep a lot of batteries in mine. lol
ReplyDeleteYa know, I rarely EVER change my batteries or have to charge. I charge my battery maybe once every two weeks and I take tons of pictures everyday. I guess because I never use flash?
ReplyDeleteI've really been contemplating the 50mm...I've heard so many good things about it.
ReplyDeleteThe Passport Sling looks really nice, if I had a DSLR + lenses to tote around, I'd be sorely tempted to get that one! :D How much does all that gear weigh?
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I've on the fence about getting 50mm. I've never bought another lens yet so I think that shall be my first :)
ReplyDeleteWe have the same lenses. Except my kit lens doesn't have the IS.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the 50mm lens a few days ago, and now you've inspired me to order the macro filters! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteREALLY smart idea about the baggies and the trash bags!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteHave to agree about the 50mm, mine never leaves my camera! Such a great lens! And those filters! I didn't even know they existed and now I'm heading to amazon to buy them! :)
Wow! That's quite a lot of loot!! Good idea with the garbage bags and ziplocks :)
ReplyDeletemacro filters are next on my to buy list. soooo happy you told me about them.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought a Canon T1i with the 50mm lens (on your recommendation, actually, haha! I'm such a dork!) and those macro lenses look amazing! Do you think the 50mm would be suitable with the macro lenses, or should I save my pennies and get the 18-55 lens (which I've been kinda wanting anyway)?
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
I love the 18-55 lens, the macro filters are something I haven't experimented with but I sure will. The mini instax gotta be in the bag all the time!
ReplyDeleteMaliciousGnome, um, you could try the macro lenses with the 50mm, but I really haven't had much luck with it. I won't say you can't but it's not so easy. I'd say get the 15-55mm to use them with. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking to the macro filters! I've been trying to find similar ones for awhile, but was just couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree about the 50mm- I have the exact same lens, and it barely ever leaves my Canon. When I had an accident and couldn't replace it for a few weeks, I was lost!
i kind of envy your organizational skills :)
ReplyDeleteI looove seeing people's camera bags!! Thanks for sharing :) And thanks for the links to the macro filters. I had nooo idea they existed, and so inexpensive♥ I found some other cool camera stuff for cheap while I was browsing from your link so I'm a happy girl.
ReplyDeleteThe garbage bag idea is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThis is just awesome!!! And I love how many of your links you pepper through your posts!!! I can spend hours on your blog. ^_^
ReplyDeletethank you for posting this!!! i love peeking inside people's gear bags and seeing what they use when they feel inspired to snap a few shots!
