Love Love Love!

Eeeep! I'm in looooove!
Not gonna lie, when I first saw these Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips I thought they were really lame. Why would you buy them for $8.50 when you can just paint your nails with a bottle of similar nail polish for under that price and get you'd more than one application?! Buuuut then I saw the designs - flowers, hounds tooth and butterflies. Yes please!

So I bought one pack, the flowers! They went on so super easy and held up really well. I'm pretty rough on my nails so I'm really impressed.  I wore them for 7 days, they actually would have lasted longer but I was getting bored with my nails and decided to switch it up. There was no chipping at all just a little bit of wear on the tip. They looked completely amazing for being on that long!

In each pack there are 16 strips so you can find the perfect fit for your nails. In order to make them last I decided to just put one on my accent nail which I always paint a different color. But the strips are super long so I was able to do my accent nail plus a second with the "scrap" from the one strip.
I still think the idea of buying the ones that are plain, or just glittery is mighty silly but I'm crazy about the ones with patterns! I've already bought three other designs (butterflies, hounds tooth and black and white flowers) that I'm dying to try. I'll make sure to post pictures and share my experience with those when I wear them as well.

I tried to find them on amazon so I could share a link but they're not avaliable yet. You can find them at WalMart and most drug stores.

xoxo
PS. Just thought I should mention I have no affiliation with Sally Hansen, I just really really love this product and wanted to share the joy! :)

  1. I've been contemplating buying those things for a few weeks now. I may surrender and just buy them today.

  2. Wow. I'll have to keep an eye out for these in the UK.

  3. Ooooh! I like! I'm going to have to try them out. I'm always skeptical about buying nail products because I'm so terribly rough on my nails. They're constantly under water or heat from blow dryers or in people's hair and I can't seem to make the polish last no matter what I do. I can't wait to try these out, though!

  4. I'm not too big of a fan of fancy nail designs, but I love those flowers! Who am I kidding? I love floral anything, ha!

  5. Great choice with the flowers!

  6. I love the picture with all the buttons! These seem like a lot of fun :)

I'm not a huge fan of the flowery ones...but you said the magic word-houndstooth!!! :)

  10. Those are so cute. I've been seeing them everywhere but I'm glad they are worth the money. I'll have to try em!

  11. When I saw them I thought they were a bit silly too. Albeit, my local store only had solid, glitter, and houndstooth. I do my own houndstooth with Konad (well, generic Konad plates!) If you haven't used them, I imagine you would like them!

  12. OMG these are amazing!! thanks for sharing!

  14. I just saw these yesterday and thought the same thing! The patterns ARE super duper cute though... I just wish they weren't SO expensive!! I love them, but I just couldn't justify it... *sigh* (I especially love the one you're "wearing" now!)

  15. Eek, I'm jealous because around me, all the cute patterns are sold out. They look super adorable with the blue and yellow nails. If you have a Trade Secret store nearby, I found a different brand that were only $3.99. I don't know if they are as easy to apply though.

  17. I bought those about a month ago but got them in the black and white flower cutout design. I fell in love so fast. I went to buy more but they were all sold out in the cute ones. They only had the solid color left which I agree, it's a waste of money. They are super fun though and last a long time. I've been on the hunt for the cutout design .. hopefully I'll find them this weekend.

annnd, i am super jealous of your diana! i have been wanting to buy one but holding myself back. i'll just admire your pretty photos for now. i love that double exposure of leaf! hehe! it looks like those portraits that i see a lot of people's parents. know what i mean? with the smaller faded photo set into the larger one.

how much do they cost at walmart? I hate going there, but may suck it up. They were $10 something @ walgreens.

  29. The nurse at my doctor's appointment had these! I'm super interested since I'm trying to avoid the toxicity of normal nailpolish. 8.50 is a bit steep, but I might have to check them out anyway! thanks for the tip!

  30. I have been thinking about buying those! I wasn't sure if they would work or not..and I did not want to waste $8 to find out. Now, I am totally going to buy them!!

  31. I work at Walgreens and I was so stoked to get these samples. I love how long they are so you can use one for several fingers. I stocked up on cheetah print.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh my gosh, those are SO cute!! I want to try them out now!

    ReplyDelete
  33. im so glad you posted this. i wanted to try them but i wanted to wait til someone else did first to see if they would work well.

i wish i could paint my nail, but my job doesn't allow it! D:

  35. I always wondered how those looked.. they look awesome on you! Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  36. That looks amazing!! i saw them in passing but never thought that it would look THAT good.

**totally random side note / question**
Do you remember the nail polish you could "peel off" i can't for the life of me remember who made it... but i can't help but think that wasn't very healthy for nails.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I just bought the floral ones like you have on the other day and am really excited to try them out. I agree that the glitter or plain ones seem... not as valuable, but the patterns are amazing. I like how you didn't put them on all your nails, just a few.

    ReplyDelete
  38. oh and smo: I remember that product too, it was by Maybelline

    ReplyDelete
  39. i love that you mixed it up with the teal and yellow so cute! i almost bought the flower design too but wasn't sure...not that i see it on it looks really cute! may have to try them out myself!

  40. Perfect thing for accent nails! Super cute, I love it :D

I'm also a pretty big Sally Hansen fan. Most of my nail polish is by her, so I'll definitely be looking for these.

    Thanks for the share!

  42. Those are so awesome! I've never heard of such things (I'm not much of a make-up/fingernail/fashiony person), but I would love to try those out!

P.S. All three of those photos you took are so fantastic!

  49. Meghan, I'm getting a konad set for easter! (yep, my parents buy me easter presents and i get to pick them out!) I can't wait to try it out! :)

Jessica, I actually tried another, cheaper brand - Broadway Nails - yesterday and they sucked so hard. They didn't last very long and were hard to apply.

Elycia, haha, of course I know what you're talking about! That's exactly what I thought too! I want to get one like that of all of the cats!

Mandy, they were $8.50 at Walmart.

Smo, yep! I was just talking to Kevin about that polish a few days ago. I used to hate that stuff because it never lasted long on my nails (I'm a picker! I can't help but pick at things.)

Deerelora, me too! Sally Hansen makes the best nail polishes!!!

I'm so glad to help you guys make a decision on whether or not to splurge and buy these. They're too stinken cool! :)

  54. Kaylah- Eep! Those are the exact ones I tried and was talking about when I commented on your nail polish post! They're so fantastic. Mine actually lasted eight days, but that was even with some hardcore work I was doing (sanding, drilling, etc.) while working on a project. I was so happy with them, and I'll definitely be getting them again.

  55. The flower pattern looks awesome!!!

  57. Those are sooo adorable! I have never seen those before, and soo want some now! Maybe it would inspire me to paint my nails weekly...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Those are really neat! Never heard of them before.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think it would be so cool if they made space scenes, like planets and galaxies. That would be so cool.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I saw these at walmart the other day and thought "how stupid!" Since then I have read probably ten blog posts about how great they are. They look so much better than I expected! So I totally have to go back to walmart now!

    ReplyDelete
  61. LOVE them!! so beautiful.
fingers crossed they come out here in oz too!
    xx

  62. wonderbread, I know, I can think of tons of awesome prints they should make!! I hope they expand the line in the future. :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. These are really cute. There is a little shop in the mall where I live that sales the same thing but for ohh 15 bucks so I dont think the 8 something is to bad for the ones with the designs! :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I just got these as well! I couldn't resist the cute patterns!

The thing I love unexpectedly love most about them is they last forever without a single chip. As much as I love nail polish, I always have issues with chips because I work with my hands a lot. These have lasted 7 days so far with no sign of wear and I loooove it. I think the only reason I will end up having to take them off is because of nail growth...neat!

    ReplyDelete
  65. OMG loooove them!! I wonder how long until they are available in Australia...hmmmm

    ReplyDelete
  66. I love these! I've used them three times already. The neon pink, the lace, and the houndstooth. They're super good for me, even the solid colors, because I'm ridiculously horrible at doing my own nails. (no matter how long I sit not moving, they still smudge, chip, anything!) , and they're cheaper than a manicure!

I'm waiting and hoping for some new patterns. I think a vintage rose/floral pattern or gingham would look incredibly cute!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I had to go buy some of the nail strips when I read this. Literally, I read this entry and went to the store, hah! I love them :) I'm not terribly good at painting my fingernails...this is much easier!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I just bought these too! I am so excited to try them out! $8.50 is a little steep though. I hope the price comes down.

  71. Hiya

I'm doing a project this year over at my blog where I an wearing a different nail colour every week for a year (stupid, i know but if i can't do it now I will never do it). Was wondering if you have any thoughts on good brands since you wear alot of different colours (that I like too!).

Also starting to do reviews on them too. I'm a librarian so the nailpolish needs to hold up well.

Any thoughts on stuff i could try?
