The Collector. Part 1.

Everyday it becomes a little more apparent that I'm a collector. I hate mess, I hate clutter, but if said "mess" and "clutter" are organized in some way they're wonderful. But you already kind of knew that, right? I'm going to have a  new series of posts featuring some of my many collections. I'm really excited (and slightly nervous) to show you my collections, some of them might seem kind of strange. Some are sentimental, others for looks and some are to play with. But perhaps you'll get to know me a little better?

The first I'd like to share with you is one that is growing rapidly - my camera collection.
(this one is actually a few short, i found some i couldn't pass up at the thrift store yesterday!)
A large chunk of my film cameras are displayed on the shelf above my desk in my craft room so that I can see them all and decide quickly which one I want to use.
Here are a few close ups of my collection...
Ciro 35 (a gift from my dad)Meikai 4351x, & ActionSampler
Split-Cam (blogged here) & Instax 210 (blogged here)

Everyday I fall a little bit more in love with photography. I love taking pictures, capturing moments that might otherwise be forgotten. And I love learning more about cameras, how they work, what makes do certain things, etc.

Though, one thing I am bad at is getting film developed. Today after work Kevin is stopping to put in 6 rolls to get developed, I don't even know which cameras they're from let alone what's on them! I can't wait to see. I'll make sure to share some when I get the photos back!

 xoxo

  2. Wow! cool collection. When I was doing a lot more film, I'd have the same wonderment: what is on that roll? Have fun!

  3. Awesome! How many do you actually have? I think I've got 16.
I'm working on building up my camera collection. I have a lot of older ones that I don't think I can even get film for anymore! I need some fun ones (like the instax, split cam etc).
Can't wait to see more of your collections!

  5. Lovely collection! I would never have guessed that you have so many.

  6. Oh man these all look so fun! I only have 2 cameras, a regular digital and an Instax Mini. I'm really loving the oldschool feeling the pictures from the Instax produce. I may have to get my hands on another polaroid-esque camera!

  21. yay for collections! i have so many as well. & one of them is my growing camera collection too. do all of your cameras actually work? if so, that is awesome! i don't buy cameras unless i am pretty sure that they work & many of the vintage ones do not.

  23. i can't wait for this feature! i'm learning to develop film right now, so i'm absolutely loving film cameras!

  24. I absolutely love your collections and especially this of cameras. Its not hard to develop films, b&w or in color. Just a little practice and u get a hang of it :)

  25. What a lovely camera collection! I'm the same way about actually getting the film developed once I've taken photos... My dad has a darkroom in his house where I can process B&W, but when it comes to taking in color film to get processed, I tend to majorly procrastinate.

  37. Oh my god I love this post!

So many blogs seem to follow the same themes, daily outfits etc. Now don't get me wrong, I'm still a huge fan of those, but I *love* to find bloggers who manage to find ways to express themselves in totally new and original ways.

I think that's why I like you're blog so much, it's a true reflection of you and your tastes which in turn, makes it an utter joy to read.

    Thank you for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow! This is amazing. You make me want to take my camera with me always. I have the polaroid 600 also, but they have stopped selling the film in the UK! :( So I have one packet left that I am holding onto because I am too scared to use it and never be able to get any more!

    Which is your favourite camera?
