A while back I asked you all to give me your favorite vegan sugar cookie recipe since I was having no luck whatsoever making them. Heidi of mypapercrane recommended this recipe. It was AMAZING. Oh my goodness! I'm honestly not even a big fan of sugar cookies (I just really like using cookie cutters!) and they were awesome. Just like the recipe says, they melt in your mouth.
I'm not the best at decorating...yet! But practice makes perfect, right?! They're actually all gone now, I made them last week but looking at these pictures again is making my mouth water. I need an excuse to make some STAT.
xoxo.

ReplyDeleteAw, those lil' acorns are the cutest! All those cookies look so delicious, I don't blame you for wanting to make more. I'd say since your sewing machine is poorly you have the perfect excuse to get baking in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteOOOH, can you make me some? I'll knit you something in exchange. I'm totally serious.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! I love sugar cookies, and now I think I have to make some :D
ReplyDeleteMust...go...buy...COOKIE CUTTERS! I'm sure the cookies would be great in normal cookie shape form but I think they need to be adorable and delicious.

ReplyDeleteDarling! and Mmmm look tasty! your excuse can be to make me some! My bday is next Monday the 16th! :p
ReplyDeleteKyra, exactly. Things taste better when they're cute! It's a fact! ;)
ReplyDeleteCara, good, I suppose! My eyelid is fine, it doesn't hurt at all. It's the stupid little cuts under my eye on my cheek that hurt. It's majorly swollen and bruised.
Katie, they actually gave me a rental. Well, like not rental because I didn't have to pay, but one to use while mine is in the shop. I'm relieved to have a machine, but I was kind of hoping to have a week off to bake my butt off! :P
Those look delish! *drools*
ReplyDeleteeep! these cookies look delicious. :3
ReplyDeletei might have to try making some myself. ^_^
just started reading and enjoying your blog, by the way. :3 i've had you on my Flickr friends list for a while (i'm "twinklestah" there!) and it's lovely to see your crafts and photos in action!

ReplyDeleteThose look so delicious! :D I may have to try that recipe! I do have a question, though. Do you have any good vegan chocolate chip cookie recipes? I've been trying to find a good one. :0
ReplyDeleteKara, I don't know any off hand. I'm not too good with vegan cookies. But it is something I want to improve on, so if I find a good one I'll post about it for sure! :)

Kara and Kaylah:
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate chip cookie recipe from Colleen Patrick-Goudreau's cookbook, "The Joy Of Vegan Baking" is (by far) the absolute best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever used (and I've tried a lot!). This is my go-to recipe for family gatherings, birthdays, etc. I make it so often that the spine on the book is split on the page the recipe is on! :) Worth checking out!
Those cookies are totally adorable! I have a special place in my heart for little happy faced acorns!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great recipe.
I have long been under the impression that white sugar is not vegan. Oh yes, I just looked it up in How it all Vegan, I guess a lot of companies use animal charcoal filters in the refining process. They recommend trying sucanat, turbinado, concentrated fruit sweetener, rice syrup or maple syrup. There is also a note about maple syrup. Sometimes lard is used as a foam reducer! Yuck!
Obviously, some of these sweeteners would totally change your recipes. I have had success with turbinado sugar in place of white sugar.
I am not 100% vegan myself but I hope this info. helps for anyone who is!
Tehe! yum yum yum, I love the last image :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm loving those acorns, too! :) Have you seen these cookie cutters? So strange!! http://www.stupid.com/fun/FETS.html
